Civilizing Serendib

‘Civilizing Serendib’ revisits post-coloniality, ideas of authenticity and hybridity.  Our political and cultural histories are intertwined with attempts of civilizing the natives, by outsiders as well as insiders. Constant purging and rejection of history selectively and reinterpreting history is an attempt to culturally purify ourselves in what is seen as a civilizing process.
